Wentz on extension: Eagles’ culture couldn’t fit better

The Carson Wentz age is in full effect in Philadelphia along with the Super Bowl LII champion is enthusiastic about his future with the Eagles.
After his signing the dotted line last Thursday to a four-year extension worth up to $144 million, Wentz dealt with the media Monday about his quick decision to stay with the team that drafted him second complete a mere 3 decades back.
“I feel the two sides wanted to do it. I knew I needed this to be home for a long time,” Wentz said, donned in a dapper green match with an Eagles pin fastened to his lapel. “Ever since being drafted, it’s felt like house and therefore, when we found something that has been a win-win and also a fair opportunity, I jumped at it because, like I said, I really like this place. I would like to be here for a while.
“I don’t think this culture or this city could fit me any better, just with all the fire that they bring and how awful they want to win and I am wired exactly the same way.”

While Wentz didn’t dive too deep into the particulars of the discussions, the quarterback noted that talks had been in the works for a few months and that he didn’t want to bog down himself with the details, with confidence in his agents as well as the company to find a happy medium.
“There was lots of various ways this thing might have went. I left it up to them and said’You guys do what you do.’ I have a lot of trust in the things they do and the way they function, so I was in the know rather than from the loop, but at the same time I didn’t need to get overly concerned,” he said. “I had been focused on OTAs and we’re out here as a staff. I believe this ended up working out as it was supposed to.”
Though the 2019 year is only going to be Wentz’s fourth in the NFL, the North Dakota State product has achieved a long time in his youthful career. Numbers don’t lie along with both Eagles and Wentz have attracted some ringing digits into the dining table, both on and off the field. However, the magic has been powerful since Wentz came aboard, and both sides believe the good times will merely keep rolling from here.
“They saw something unique in me and in precisely the same time in saw something special at this location. I really could see the chemistry, I could see the civilization, the cosmetics in the moment I came here on my visit ahead of the draft,” he shared. “I knew there was something different here, I knew there was something special and we were able to accomplish something special a few years back.
“It has been quite the ride for these few years but I’m really excited about what the future brings.”
