One year after he launched a soul-stirring cry for help for the people of Syria via a
song called Silent Words, British
singer Sami Yusuf is back at it. This time, the United Nation’s World Food Programme celebrity ambassador is promoting what he calls the world’s first
interfaith anthem, a song called The Gift of Love, to mark the World Interfaith
Harmony Week this week.
Proposed by King Abdullah II of Jordan in 2010 and later adopted by the UN, the first week of February is now observed every year as the World Interfaith Harmony Week. Yusuf’s song and video was released on Monday to promote the event, and hopefully start a movement.
